Formerly known as Robotech Contractors, Land Clearing Northland offers specialist land clearing, mowing, mulching, weed eradication and spraying services.
Our unique, remote controlled Robocut and Robomax machines allow us to clear where others don’t dare! We can safely operate on slopes of up to 65 degrees, mowing and mulching in one efficient sweep and we are Sitewise, Site Safe and Growsafe accredited.
We also have an array of other machinery suited to less extreme environments. Just show us what needs clearing, levelling, lifting, shifting, or digging out and we’ll provide you with the safest, most cost-effective solution to getting the job done.
From mowing and mulching olive groves, avocado and kiwi orchards to site clearing, land reclaimation and spraying on farms, small holdings and developments, we are your one stop shop.
Based in Kerikeri the Bay of Islands, we service Te Tai Tokerau Northland from Warkworth to Kaitaia and from Hokianga to Russell.
Remote controlled, the Robocut can operate on slopes of up to 65 degrees. Small and nimble, the Robocut is great for getting into narrow access areas. It mulches and mows in the same pass and will decimate vegetation up to about 2m in height. Robocut’s lighter weight reduces the impact to soil, making it ideal for residential situations and sensitive areas like archaeological sites.
We are currently custom building a sprayer to fit this machine which will enable us to spray areas that a tractor unit can’t access.
Remote controlled, Robomax is the big gun in our arsenal. It handles slopes of up to 55 degrees. A bigger, heavier footprint means it ‘eats’ much larger vegetation and cuts a swathe through heavy kikuyu. Mowing and mulching in a single pass, Robomax is great for clearing tracks in rough terrain.

We have an array of attachments to fit our 70HP (4WD) Kubota Tractor which make it the versatile solution for mowing, mulching, contouring, levelling, backfilling, lifting & shifting, earthmoving and spraying.

Safety is at the fore of everything we do. Site Wise, Site Safe and Growsafe approved, we do everything possible to minimise risk to people and property.
Using remote-controlled equipment means our highly skilled operators remain at a safe distance, operating safely in even the most extreme conditions.
Our Robocut and Robomax machines are more efficient – mowing and mulching in a single pass. This means less time to do the job and less impact to your soil. And the resultant mulch acts as a blanket, protecting your newly cleared slopes from erosion.
As former Police Officer, owner Andy Murdoch is very respectful of his clients’ personal safety and property.
He assesses every site for presence of kiwi, historic and/or cultural significance before work commences.
All staff are fully trained in safety procedures, are highly skilled machine operators and are vetted to ensure they are of good character and hold clean licences. You can trust that Andy and the team will take pride in completing the job to the highest standard and delivering the agreed result.
